January Article

Grace and peace to you in this New Year! What a fantastic Advent and Christmas celebration we had this year; the play, the Cantata, and Christmas Eve, were all uplifting and meaningful events for our congregation. It was nice to see so many new people celebrating the joy of the season with us!

I am thankful for all that we have accomplished this past year, and in looking into the next year, I am excited for what is yet to come. This next year may prove to be a challenging year for all of us as a nation. But as Christians, we know that whether kingdoms rise or kingdoms fall, in good times or in bad, through pandemics, wars, or any disasters, we face them together, and our hope in God our Savior will not be shaken. As Romans 5:5 tells us, “Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.”

Hope does not disappoint because we do not walk through this next year alone. We walk with the Holy Spirit, the love of God in our hearts, and with each other. I am looking forward to another year of ministry together at Christ the Servant Lutheran. Let us all pray together that Almighty God will continue to bless us as we minister to each other and the community around us. And may God bring us new opportunities to serve Him and to proclaim the Gospel to the world around us.

God bless you in the New Year!
