April Article

He is risen! He is risen indeed, Alleluia!

Happy Easter and a blessed Easter Season to you! I hope this newsletter finds you well. Easter seems especially nice when it is accompanied by nice weather. This year the weather for myself (compared to Florida) has been especially nice.

I wanted to start this newsletter article first by saying a big “Thank You!” to everyone who was involved in making the play happen. What an event! Also, a big “Thank You!” to everyone who helped to make our Lenten Soup Suppers, special worship services, and Easter celebration happen this year. It’s a lot of work, but many hands make the work much easier and enjoyable.

In my brief time with you so far, I have noticed that our Christ the Servant Lutheran Church here in Conway is unique in many ways. One of the ways I have noticed is that being a retirement community, we have a wide breadth of experience and knowledge among its members. It makes me think of what Paul wrote about in 1 Corinthians 12:4, Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; 5 and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; 6 and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone.

In my role as pastor, I hope to bring forth and try out these variety of gifts, services, and activities as we move forward into this year. It’s exciting to think about all the possibilities we can explore and do together. I know not all of them will be successful, but we can take what we learned, take what worked, and move forward, knowing that it is still the same God who empowers them all in everyone.

For now, let’s enjoy the wonderful Easter Season, the Spring weather, and each other’s company in fellowship as we worship, pray, and encourage one another forward. Amen.

   Happy Easter!
