In the forty years. since my ordination as a Lutheran pastor, I have served a small town church or two and alongside a staff of dozens at a large church, on mission trips built homes for the poor in Mexico and with jaw dropping wonder witnessed God miraculously provide nearly a quarter of a million dollar budget shortfall (twice) as head of a Lutheran school in Charlotte, NC. I have taught theology to university students and Bible as literature to public school teachers, planted a church and survived a pandemic, taught the Bible to high school students and performed weddings in Australia and Iowa, on Colorado mountaintops and under bright Kansas skies.
I have had the joy of loving my wife Beth for over 46 years, the privilege of raising three children together, and the delight of reveling in the successes and the anitcs of 12 grandchildren.
I am grateful to have baptized newborns and octogenarians, to have married couples in their teens and couples in their sixties, and to have celebrated lives long and short in Christ. In this season, I rejoice in the privilege of serving the people of the Grand Strand along with the congregants who are Christ the Servant Lutheran Church of Conway, SC.
